I Discovered My Wife’s Betrayal on My Deathbed and Made a Life-Altering Decision to Protect My Legacy

I Discovered My Wife’s Betrayal on My Deathbed and Made a Life-Altering Decision to Protect My Legacy Save

Section 3

Caleb bolted from Vanessa’s office, heart pounding in his chest. He had stumbled onto something chilling—text messages detailing every twisted plan she had with Julian. Each word echoed in his mind as he rushed down the hallway toward Arthur’s room.

“Arthur! You won’t believe what I found!” Caleb burst in, breathless and frantic. Arthur, lying pale and frail, turned his head slowly, eyes reflecting a flicker of hope.

“What did you discover?” The rasp in Arthur’s voice was barely audible, but the urgency was clear.

Caleb leaned in, lowering his voice. “Vanessa’s been plotting this for months. I found texts between her and her lover. They’re planning to celebrate your death!”

“Celebrate?” Arthur croaked, disbelief mingling with the dawning horror.

“Yes! They think they’ve won. But we can turn this around. You need to fight back.”

Arthur’s brow furrowed, a spark igniting. “I have something… a hidden camera.”

Caleb’s eyes widened. “You recorded her?”

“Yes, I wanted proof,” Arthur replied, struggling to shift his frail body. “But we have to check it now.”

They hurried toward the monitor. Arthur’s fingers trembled as he pressed the buttons, but each attempt yielded nothing. Panic set in as the screen flickered to black.

“It’s off!” Caleb shouted, desperation clawing at him. “How could this happen?”

“I don’t know!” Arthur’s voice rose, urgency cutting through the fear. “It has to be on!”

Caleb’s panic morphed into frustration. “We need another plan. We can’t let her win.”

Section 4

“Let’s bait her,” Caleb suggested, his mind racing. “If we make her believe you’re in worse condition, she’ll come running.”

Arthur’s expression turned serious. “You think it will work?”

“It has to. We’ll stage a health crisis. When she shows up, we’ll catch her off guard.”

With a nod of determination, they devised a makeshift plan. Caleb organized the hospital staff, explaining the ruse, while Arthur feigned increasing weakness. The tension in the air was palpable as they prepped for the moment.

“Trust me. Just act like you’re fading,” Caleb urged.

As they set the stage, Arthur lay on his bed, struggling to keep his breaths steady. A bead of sweat trickled down his brow as he focused on Caleb’s instructions.

“Just a little longer, Arthur. When she walks in, it’s game over for her,” Caleb reassured him, heart pounding with anxiety.

Then, they heard the familiar click of heels outside the door. The moment hung heavy in the air as they exchanged a glance, adrenaline surging between them.

“Now!” Caleb urged, his voice a whisper of urgency.

But just as they were about to execute their plan, Arthur’s face twisted in pain. His hand shot to his chest, gasping as he crumpled against the pillows.

“Arthur!” Caleb shouted, terror flooding through him as he rushed to his side. “Stay with me!”

Arthur’s breaths came in shallow gasps, his eyes wide with fear, leaving Caleb frantic and unsure, the plan unraveling before them.
