The Day My Husband Introduced His Pregnant Mistress Right After I Gave Birth Changed Everything I Thought I Knew

The Day My Husband Introduced His Pregnant Mistress Right After I Gave Birth Changed Everything I Thought I Knew Save

Byron's Betrayal Deepens

Byron's hands trembled as he held the phone, his eyes darting nervously. “It’s... it’s a sonogram,” he stammered, barely lifting it for everyone to see. A picture of a small, developing fetus appeared on the screen. “And the date—”

I leaned closer, my heart racing. The date stamped across it made my stomach drop. “That’s impossible! You can’t—”

“I didn’t lie!” Byron barked, desperation lacing his voice. “I just... didn’t think it mattered!”

The air was thick with shock. Byron's mother gasped, her hand flying to her mouth as she staggered back, collapsing into a nearby chair. “No, no, no!” she muttered, her face pale as she tried to comprehend the unfolding chaos.

“What does this mean?” my mother whispered, her eyes darting from Byron to Mary, now frozen in fear. “Byron, how long has this been going on?”

Byron opened his mouth to respond, but the words wouldn’t come. Instead, he looked across the room, confusion warping into anger. “You don’t understand!” he yelled, frustration boiling over. “I had to find comfort somewhere!”

The implications of another child bore down on me like a heavy weight. “What comfort? While I was in labor?” I shot back, feeling the heat rise in my cheeks. “Do you even care?”

Unraveling the Web of Deceit

As silence hung in the air, I felt a rush of clarity. I turned to Byron's father, who had been quiet, watching the scene like a spectator. “You must have known all along,” I accused, my voice trembling.

Byron’s father hesitated, his gaze dropping to the floor. “I... I didn’t think it would come to this,” he murmured, his voice barely a whisper.

“Didn’t think what would come to this? Your son’s infidelity? Or that you’d betray your own family?” I pressed, my voice rising. “But what about my sister? Why would she even—”

A light flickered in my mind. “No. It can’t be,” I said slowly, piecing it together. “This is about revenge, isn’t it?”

Byron’s father’s eyes widened, and I could see the guilt etched on his face. “She approached me... said it was time to settle old scores. I didn’t think she would take it this far.”

“Old scores?” I echoed, realization hitting me with full force. “You and my sister are in this together?”

“It wasn’t supposed to go like this!” he snapped, desperation seeping into his tone. “She wanted to show you what you lost! What you took from her!”

My heart raced, anger boiling inside me. “You both conspired to ruin our family?” I felt sick. My sister’s bitterness had morphed into something vile and twisted.

Accusations flew around the room, a cacophony of disbelief and betrayal. I felt the walls of our family collapsing. “I need to confront her,” I declared, my mind made up. “She needs to know I won’t be part of this chaos.”

This was no longer just about Byron's deception; it was about my sister’s role in this vile betrayal, and I could no longer stand by as my newborn son’s future hung in the balance.
