The Day My Husband Introduced His Pregnant Mistress Right After I Gave Birth Changed Everything I Thought I Knew

The Day My Husband Introduced His Pregnant Mistress Right After I Gave Birth Changed Everything I Thought I Knew Save

Byron’s father hands him the phone

The moment Byron’s father returned, an unsettling hush swept through the room. He extended the phone toward Byron, his expression tinged with something I couldn’t quite place—was it guilt?

“It’s your sister,” he said, voice steady yet strained. My heart dropped. I hadn’t spoken to her in years. How could this be happening now?

“Hello?” Byron answered, his voice wavering. I watched as color drained from his face, the weight of the call apparent. “What do you mean?”

This wasn’t just any phone call; it was a lifeline to buried secrets. My sister’s voice crackled through the receiver, a mix of anger and hurt lacing her words. “You don’t even know, do you?”

Byron’s eyes widened, terror dawning. He exchanged nervous glances with Mary, who stood there, seemingly unfazed, as if this wasn’t her chaotic life being unraveled.

“What the hell is happening?” I muttered under my breath, trying to catch any glimpse of clarity. My family’s expressions morphed from surprise to disbelief, my mother’s whispering fear palpable, while Byron’s father shifted uncomfortably, sweat beading on his brow.

Then I heard it—a hint of betrayal laced in my sister's voice. “I know about you and Dad,” she spat, and the weight of her words slammed into me like a freight train. “I’m pregnant, too!”

Silence reigned, the air thick with unsaid emotions. I could hardly breathe, my heart pounding as revelations crashed around us like waves against the shore. What more could I learn? This was only the beginning.

Demanding answers

I turned to Byron’s father, my chest tight with rage and betrayal. “You need to explain this!” My voice cut through the silence, sharp and trembling.

“It’s not what you think,” he stammered, avoiding my gaze. “It just happened…”

My hands shook at my sides, anger boiling within me. “Just happened? You’ve been hiding this from me? From all of us?”

Mary stood frozen, her expression now one of uncertainty, the facade cracking. I glanced at my own family, their faces pale, as the reality of what had just been revealed crashed over us.

“Dad, are you really saying this?” Byron finally broke his silence, his voice laced with confusion and fear. “You’ve been involved with her...?”

“I was trying to protect you,” his father replied weakly. “But now, with your sister…”

A cacophony erupted as my mother and sister exchanged heated whispers, my mother’s eyes wide with disbelief. Everything felt surreal, the walls of our family history collapsing as heavy secrets were unearthed.

Before I could wrap my mind around the turmoil, Byron’s phone buzzed again, drawing every eye toward him. The room stilled, breaths held in expectation.

With trembling hands, he opened the message. The world felt like it was spiraling out of control as he read the contents aloud.

“It’s a sonogram picture,” he hesitated, his voice barely a whisper, “and the date… it’s from months ago.”

The air thickened, a collective gasp echoing through the room, leaving us all to grapple with the gravity of Byron’s betrayal, the timeline shattering our already fractured family.
