Pregnant Woman Denied Everything in Divorce Court—Then the Doors Slammed Shut
← Previous Part (2) Reading Part 3 of 3

I felt a wave of shock wash over me as I realized that Sascha had been playing me all along. She had never intended to help me, but had instead been using me to get to Reeve. And now, she was betraying me, revealing our conversation to Reeve. I knew that I had to act fast, to think of something to say to salvage the situation. But before I could speak, Reeve's face turned red with rage.

"You stupid fool," he spat, his eyes blazing with fury. "You think you can take me down? I'll ruin you, Anwen. I'll make sure you never work again, that you never have a penny to your name." I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized the true extent of Reeve's power. But I refused to back down, to give in to his threats. Instead, I stood up, my eyes locked on his. "I'm not afraid of you, Reeve," I said, my voice firm. "And I'll do whatever it takes to bring you down."

Reeve's face turned purple with rage, and for a moment, I thought he was going to lunge at me. But then, he seemed to regain control of himself, and a cold, calculating smile spread across his face. "We'll see about that," he said, his voice dripping with malice. And with that, he stood up, and walked out of the café, leaving me and Sascha alone once again. But as I looked at Sascha, I knew that I couldn't trust her. She had betrayed me once, and I had no doubt that she would do it again.

And as I sat there, trying to make sense of the situation, I heard the sound of the café door opening once again. But this time, it wasn't Reeve who walked in. It was someone else, someone who would change everything. And as I looked up, I saw a figure standing in the doorway, a figure who made my heart skip a beat. It was a woman, a woman with a kind face and a determined look in her eye. And as she walked towards me, I knew that my life was about to change forever.

Chapter 6: The Karma

The woman introduced herself as Rachel, a private investigator who had been hired by a mysterious client to look into Reeve's business dealings. As she sat down at our table, I realized that this was the break I had been waiting for. Rachel explained that she had been investigating Reeve for months, and had uncovered a web of deceit and corruption that went all the way to the top.

As she spoke, I felt a sense of vindication wash over me. I had known that Reeve was a bad man, but I had never imagined the extent of his wrongdoing. Rachel told me that she had enough evidence to bring Reeve down, to take him to court and make him pay for his crimes. And as she spoke, I knew that I had to be a part of it.

Together, Rachel and I hatched a plan to take down Reeve and his empire. We spent hours poring over documents, gathering evidence and building a case against him. And finally, the day of the trial arrived. As we stood in the courtroom, facing Reeve and his team of lawyers, I felt a sense of pride and determination. I was finally going to get the justice I deserved.

The trial was a long and grueling process, but in the end, justice was served. Reeve was found guilty of his crimes, and he was sentenced to prison. As I walked out of the courtroom, I felt a sense of closure, of finality. I had taken down the man who had ruined my life, and I had done it with the help of a stranger who had become a friend.

As I looked at Rachel, I knew that I would never forget her. She had changed my life, had given me the strength and the courage to stand up for myself. And as we hugged, I knew that I would always be grateful to her. I had finally found the justice I deserved, and I had found a true friend in the process. And as I walked away from the courtroom, I knew that I was ready to start my new life, free from the toxic influence of Reeve Hale.

Reeve's downfall was a testament to the power of karma, a reminder that what goes around comes around. And as I walked away from the courtroom, I knew that I would always stand up for what was right, no matter what the cost. I had found my voice, and I would never be silenced again.

I took a deep breath, feeling the cool air fill my lungs. I was finally free, free from the toxic life I had left behind. And as I looked to the future, I knew that I would always be ready for whatever came next. I was Anwen Pryce, and I was unstoppable.
