I Gave Up My Dreams for His, Only to Face a Heartbreaking Betrayal on His Graduation Day

I Gave Up My Dreams for His, Only to Face a Heartbreaking Betrayal on His Graduation Day Save

Confronting Corin

I pushed through the café door, the familiar scent of roasted beans and pastries engulfing me, but all I felt was cold dread. Corin sat at our usual table, scrolling through his phone as if nothing had changed. I approached him, every step heavy with uncertainty.

He looked up, his eyes clouded with indifference. “About what? Graduation? It was a long day.”

“About everything,” I pressed, anger bubbling just below the surface. “Dorian said you were hiding something from me.”

“Dorian?” he scoffed, leaning back in his chair. “Don’t listen to gossip. You know how he is.”

“But the papers, Corin. You handed me divorce papers after everything we sacrificed. How can I just forget that?”

“You’re overreacting,” he said, crossing his arms. “This isn’t the place for this.”

His calm demeanor only fueled my suspicions. I wanted to scream, to throw everything I had worked for in his face, but instead, I felt my resolve faltering.

Just as I was about to walk away, I caught a glimpse of Dorian at a nearby table. He quickly gestured for me to come over, his expression urgent. I hesitated, torn between confronting Corin and the hope that Dorian might hold the key to everything.

Unveiling the Truth

I stumbled toward Dorian, my heart racing. He tilted his head, beckoning me closer. “I have something you need to see,” he said, his voice low and conspiratorial.

We leaned over the table, and he pulled out his phone, scrolling through images with shaky fingers. “Corin has been living a double life,” he said, staring into my eyes. “Look at this.”

As I glanced at the screen, a wave of nausea washed over me. Text messages exchanged late at night, photos of Corin with another woman—each revelation felt like a dagger in my chest. “You can’t be serious,” I breathed, my mind racing.

Dorian nodded. “I tried to warn you, but I didn’t know how to bring it up. You deserve to know, especially after what he did today.”

My heart pounded with a mix of fear and hope. Just as I decided to trust Dorian, I saw Corin entering the café, his eyes narrowing as they landed on us. My stomach dropped.

“What the hell is going on here?” Corin's voice boomed, full of anger. I could feel the tension in the air thickening around us.

“I was just… talking to Dorian,” I stammered, trying to keep my composure.

“Talking?” he spat. “This is ridiculous. Dorian has no right to meddle in our lives.”

Dorian stood his ground, facing Corin. “I’m only telling her the truth. You can’t control everything anymore.”

“You’re trying to ruin my life!” Corin shouted, his calm façade crumbling. “Don’t listen to him, he’s lying!”

Amidst the shouting, I found the courage to stand up for myself, demanding the truth. “Tell me why, Corin! Why did you do this?”
