I Fed a Little Boy and Unknowingly Invited His Father’s Fearsome World into My Life

I Fed a Little Boy and Unknowingly Invited His Father’s Fearsome World into My Life Save

Appealing to Mikhail's Instincts

The air grew thick with tension as Mikhail stared me down, his icy gaze piercing through the chaos of the diner. Misha, trembling, clung tighter to my side, and I felt my heart race.

I took a deep breath. “Mr. Volkov, I just wanted to help your son. No child should be left hungry.”

His expression shifted slightly, a flicker of something—almost human—sparked in his dark eyes. “You think you can just feed him without consequences?”

“All I wanted was to show him kindness,” I pressed on, desperate to reach a part of him that was more than just a criminal. “As a father, wouldn’t you want someone to care for your child?”

Mikhail’s jaw clenched, and for a heartbeat, he looked almost vulnerable. “Kindness is weakness,” he shot back, but his voice lacked the conviction it had moments before.

“What you did could have consequences for Misha,” he warned, his tone still holding a dangerous edge.

Before I could respond, the sound of sirens pierced the night air, distant but growing louder. Mikhail’s demeanor shifted instantly, the warmth fading like a ghost. “We don’t have time for this,” he snapped, eyes narrowing.

I felt the room spiral back into a state of dread. “What are you going to do?”

Mikhail’s gaze turned cold again, the warmth extinguished. “My plans for my son are none of your concern.”

Into the Darkness

With a sudden jerk, Mikhail grabbed Misha's small arm, pulling him toward the door. “We’re leaving.”

“What about the diner?” I protested, my feet refusing to move. “You can’t just take us!”

His voice was flat, unyielding. “You will learn to appreciate gratitude.”

As we stepped into the stormy night, my pulse quickened. Misha’s eyes were wide with fear, reflecting the darkness of his father. I caught a glimpse of Mikhail’s world—one where power reigned supreme.

“Where are we going?” I dared to ask, sensing the tightening noose around my own future.

“Home,” Mikhail replied curtly, glancing back with a predatory glare. “You will see how we live.”

The sleek black cars awaited us, their ominous presence swallowing the diner behind us. Once inside, I took in the lavish but cold interior of the penthouse as we arrived. Gold accents, dark wood, and glass—it was beautiful yet suffocating.

“This is not what I signed up for,” I murmured under my breath.

“You will be safe here,” Mikhail said, his voice deep and commanding, but it didn’t ease my unease.

As I stepped deeper into his lair, I felt an invisible wall close in around me, the weight of a world that had nothing to do with my own. Misha moved to show me the living room, but I couldn’t shake the feeling of entrapment.

“Mikhail, I need to talk to you about Misha’s future,” I began, my voice barely above a whisper. Just as I opened my mouth to speak again, the door burst open.

A group stormed in, faces shadowed but intentions clear. My heart stopped. The rival gang was here. I realized then that my fate—and Misha's—hung in the balance.
