Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

1 cup whole milk, warmed to 110°F (43°C)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs, room temperature

2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the milk mixture. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until bubbly and frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the melted butter and eggs.

Pour the yeast mixture into the well of the flour mixture. Using a wooden spoon or spatula, mix until a soft dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

After the dough has risen, punch it down gently and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide it into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.

Arrange the dough balls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, leaving a little space between each one. Cover with the kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until puffy.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the rolls have risen, bake them for 20-25 minutes, or until they’re golden brown on top.

Remove from the oven and immediately brush the tops with melted butter. Let cool slightly before serving.
