To achieve the ultimate crispiness for your Spicy Sriracha Honey Chicken Wings, the way you coat and arrange the wings is crucial. Start by patting the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This step removes excess moisture, which is key to achieving a crunchy texture. Next, place the wings in a large mixing bowl and drizzle them with a little oil, which not only helps the seasoning adhere but also contributes to that coveted crispiness.

Ingredients

2 pounds chicken wings

1/4 cup Sriracha sauce

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet for the wings to ensure they cook evenly.

Prepare the marinade: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together Sriracha sauce, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt.

Coat the wings: Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them in the marinade until they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for more flavor).

Arrange the wings: Remove the wings from the marinade (reserving the marinade) and place them in a single layer on the wire rack. Drizzle the vegetable oil over the wings for added crispiness.

Bake the wings: Place the wings in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, turning them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Glaze the wings: While the wings are baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce it to a simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.

Combine wings and glaze: Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and place them in a large bowl. Pour the thickened glaze over the chicken wings, tossing to coat them evenly.

Serve and garnish: Transfer the glazed wings to a serving platter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for a fresh touch.

Enjoy: Serve your spicy Sriracha honey chicken wings hot with your favorite dipping sauce on the side, such as blue cheese or ranch.
