4 cups chicken broth

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Shrimp:

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 slices of bacon, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 bell pepper, diced (any color)

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Grits:

    - In a medium saucepan, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Gradually whisk in the stone-ground grits. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

      - Once the grits are cooked, stir in the cheddar cheese, heavy cream, and butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.

        Cook the Shrimp:

          - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

            - In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, add the onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

              - Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp, paprika, cayenne, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through, about 3-5 minutes.

                - Stir in the cooked bacon and remove from heat.

                  Assemble the Dish:

                    - To serve, spoon the creamy grits into bowls and top with the shrimp mixture. Garnish with sliced green onions and chopped parsley.
