Ingredients

1 pound ground sausage (breakfast sausage or Italian sausage)

1 (10-ounce) can of Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up into crumbles. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Rotel and Cream Cheese: Add the undrained Rotel tomatoes and softened cream cheese to the skillet with the cooked sausage. Stir well until the cream cheese is melted and everything is combined, about 3-5 minutes. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, mixing to incorporate. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.

Prepare Crescent Rolls: Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it into individual triangles on a clean surface.

Fill the Rolls: Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the sausage and cream cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle. Sprinkle a little shredded cheddar cheese on top of the filling.

Roll Them Up: Starting from the wide end, roll up each triangle tightly until you reach the pointed end. Place the filled crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and flaky.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
