Ingredients

12 slider buns (or dinner rolls)

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 cup pizza sauce (plus more for serving)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon butter (melted)

1 tablespoon fresh basil (chopped, for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and the ground beef (or turkey). Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Stir in the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, creating a top and a bottom half. Place the bottom halves in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Evenly spread the cooked meat mixture over the bottom halves of the buns.

Layer on the mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices, then sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Place the top halves of the buns over the filling. Brush melted butter over the top of the buns for a golden finish.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the cheese is bubbly.

Once done, remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Even sprinkle with fresh basil for added flavor and visual appeal.

Slice into individual sliders and serve warm with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping.
