Ingredients

4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin on

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)

1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)

1 tablespoon chopped green onions (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Salmon: Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This will help achieve a crispy skin. Season the skin side with salt and pepper.

Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and grated ginger (if using). Set aside.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the salmon fillets skin-side down.

Cook the Salmon: Cook the salmon for about 5 minutes without moving it, allowing the skin to get crispy. After 5 minutes, carefully flip the fillets over using a spatula. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, depending on thickness.

Add the Sauce: Once the salmon is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 125°F for medium), reduce the heat to medium-low. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the salmon fillets, allowing it to bubble and coat the fish for about 1-2 minutes.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Spoon some of the sauce over each fillet, sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish.

Enjoy: Serve the salmon alongside steamed rice and veggies or use it as a topping for a fresh salad.
