Ingredients

1 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 cup powdered sugar

Pinch of salt

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir until well combined.

Gradually add the milk and butter to the dry mixture, stirring until everything is evenly blended.

Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring constantly to prevent burning.

Once it reaches a boil, continue to cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat.

Stir in the vanilla extract and allow the mixture to cool for about 10 minutes.

After cooling, gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until the icing reaches your desired consistency.

If the icing is too thick, add a tiny bit of milk to loosen it. If it’s too thin, add more powdered sugar.

Immediately spread the icing over your cooled cake or brownies, allowing it to set before serving.
