Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes

20-24 slices pepperoni

1/2 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Olive oil spray (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil spray.

Prepare Dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean cutting board. You will have a rectangle of dough segmented into triangles.

Add Fillings: Take each triangle of dough and place a slice of pepperoni on the wider part of the triangle. Next, add a cube of mozzarella cheese on top of the pepperoni. You can add another slice of pepperoni on top for extra flavor if desired.

Roll It Up: Starting from the wide end, gently roll the crescent triangle towards the point, encasing the pepperoni and mozzarella as you go. Make sure to pinch the ends to seal in the filling.

Place on Baking Sheet: Arrange the rolled croissants on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a couple of inches apart.

Brush with Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the croissant rolls. This will give them a beautiful golden color once baked. Sprinkle a pinch of Italian seasoning and garlic powder over each roll for added flavor.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
