Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup hot fudge sauce, plus extra for drizzling

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and set aside.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, stirring until well mixed.

Add the eggs, one at a time, to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing just until no flour streaks remain.

Gently fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts or pecans, if using.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle half of the hot fudge sauce over the batter, and then add the remaining brownie batter on top. Lastly, drizzle the remaining hot fudge sauce on top of the last layer. Use a knife to swirl the fudge slightly into the batter for a marbled effect.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (do not overbake!).

Allow the brownie bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, slice the bread and drizzle with additional hot fudge before serving.
