For the Muffin Base:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

¾ cup brown sugar

½ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup buttermilk

½ cup chopped pecans (toasted if desired)

For the Cheesecake Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

⅓ cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

2 tbsp honey

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Topping:

¼ cup chopped pecans (toasted)

2 tbsp honey

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it well.

    Prepare Muffin Base: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the buttermilk until smooth. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chopped pecans.

      Make Cheesecake Filling: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the granulated sugar and mix until well blended. Mix in the egg, honey, and vanilla extract until creamy and completely combined.

        Fill Muffin Tin: Spoon a tablespoon of muffin batter into each muffin liner, followed by a tablespoon of the cheesecake filling. Top with an additional tablespoon of muffin batter to cover the filling.

          Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the muffin comes out clean.

            Prepare Topping: While the muffins are baking, mix the toasted pecans with honey in a small bowl.

              Cool and Serve: Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Once completely cool, drizzle the honey and pecan mixture on top of the muffins.
