Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes until well combined.

Marinate the Shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade, ensuring each shrimp is coated. Let it marinate for about 15-30 minutes at room temperature or up to 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Cook the Shrimp: In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated shrimp (discard the marinade) and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them.

Thicken the Sauce: If desired, pour the reserved marinade (if you set aside any before adding the shrimp) into the skillet and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Garnish: Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and crunch.

Serve: Serve the honey garlic shrimp over cooked rice or noodles, generously drizzling any remaining sauce over the top.
