Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 cups elbow macaroni

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet or pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess fat if necessary.

Sauté Aromatics: Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring frequently.

Create the Sauce: Pour in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes (with juice), and beef broth. Stir in the tomato paste, Italian seasoning, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients.

Bring to a Simmer: Increase the heat to high to bring the mixture to a simmer. Once simmering, reduce heat to medium-low and let it cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Add Pasta: Stir in the elbow macaroni and ensure it's well covered by the sauce. Cover the pot and let it cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and has absorbed some of the sauce.

Cheese It Up: Once the pasta is cooked, stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese until it's melted and thoroughly mixed. Remove from heat.

Serve and Garnish: Spoon the Beefaroni into bowls or plates. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired, and serve hot.
