Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup sweetened shredded coconut

1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Fold in Chocolate Chips, Coconut, and Pecans: Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Shape Cookies: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

Bake Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set and the centers look slightly underbaked. They will continue to firm up as they cool.

Cool and Serve: Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Enjoy: Serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy these decadent German chocolate cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite beverage!
