Ingredients

2 lbs chicken wings

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup honey

1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)

1 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and black pepper to taste

2 tablespoons sesame seeds (for garnish)

Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Marinade: In a large mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger (if using), and chili flakes. Mix well until the honey is fully dissolved.

Marinate the Wings: Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Preheat the Oven: When ready to cook, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and place a wire rack on top.

Prepare the Wings for Baking: Remove the wings from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and arrange them in a single layer on the wire rack. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.

Bake the Wings: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes, turning the wings halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Glaze the Wings: Meanwhile, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.

Add the Glaze: Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and place them in a large mixing bowl. Pour the thickened marinade over the wings and toss until they are well coated.

Serve: Transfer the glazed wings to a serving platter and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish. Serve hot and enjoy!
