Ingredients

4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Cod: Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.

Make the Garlic Butter: In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.

Cook the Cod: Carefully add the seasoned cod fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then gently flip them over.

Add Flavor: Pour in the lemon juice and sprinkle the lemon zest and thyme over the cod. Baste the fillets with the melted garlic butter in the pan for additional flavor.

Finish Cooking: Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cod is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
