Ingredients

1 large loaf of crusty bread (like French or Italian)

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup diced pepperoni or your favorite deli meats (salami, ham, etc.)

1 cup assorted chopped vegetables (bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Olive oil for drizzling

Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Loaf Preparation: Take the crusty bread and carefully slice the top off to create a lid. Hollow out the inside using a knife, leaving a ½ inch border around the edges. Save the removed bread for another use like breadcrumbs or croutons.

Mix the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, diced meats, chopped vegetables, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Stuff the Bread: Spoon the filling mixture into the hollowed-out bread, pressing down gently to pack it well. Once filled, place the lid back on the bread.

Prepare for Baking: Brush the top of the loaf with the beaten egg for a golden finish. Drizzle with a little olive oil for added flavor and moisture.

Bake: Place the stuffed bread on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

Serve: Once baked, let it cool for a few minutes. Cut into slices and serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

                Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 45 mins | Servings: 4-6

Enjoy your delightful Garbage Bread as a fun snack or a delicious main dish!
