Ingredients

1 bag (12 oz) Fritos corn chips

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 can (15 oz) chili beans in sauce

1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup diced onions (optional)

1 cup sour cream (for topping)

1 jalapeño, sliced (optional for garnish)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Avocado slices (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey until fully cooked, stirring throughout to break it into small pieces. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add the Flavor: Stir in the taco seasoning, chili beans (including the sauce), and diced tomatoes with green chilies. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5-7 minutes until heated through and well combined. Remove from heat.

Assemble the Pie: In a large serving dish or individual bowls, layer the Fritos corn chips at the bottom. Spoon the meat and bean mixture generously over the chips, ensuring an even distribution.

Cheesy Goodness: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the hot chili mixture, allowing it to melt slightly.

Top it Off: Add diced onions, a dollop of sour cream, and any additional toppings like jalapeño slices, fresh cilantro, or avocado slices.

Serve Warm: Serve your Frito pie immediately while it’s warm and the cheese is slightly melted. Enjoy the crunch of the Fritos paired with the hearty chili!
