8 oz (226g) cream cheese, softened

1 cup (240ml) heavy whipping cream

½ cup (60g) powdered sugar

½ cup (120ml) Baileys Irish Cream

2 oz (56g) semi-sweet chocolate, melted and slightly cooled

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Cake Layer:

1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients to prepare)

1 cup (240ml) freshly brewed coffee (for added richness)

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Ganache:

4 oz (113g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

½ cup (120ml) heavy cream

For Assembly:

1 cup (240ml) crushed chocolate cookies (like Oreos)

Optional: Cocoa powder or chocolate shavings for garnish

Optional: Additional whipped cream for topping

Instructions

Prepare the Chocolate Cake:

    - Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the chocolate cake.

      - In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, coffee, and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined. Pour into a greased cake pan (as per package instructions) and bake. Let cool completely before cutting into cubes.

        Make the Chocolate Cheesecake Layer:

          - In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until creamy and smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until well combined.

            - In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.

              - Add the Baileys, melted chocolate, and vanilla extract to the mixture. Carefully fold until smooth and incorporated. Refrigerate while preparing the ganache.

                Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:

                  - Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until just simmering.

                    - Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let sit for a minute before stirring until completely smooth. Allow the ganache to cool slightly.

                      Assemble the Trifle:

                        - In a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer approximately one-third of the chocolate cake cubes at the bottom.

                          - Add a layer of half of the chocolate cheesecake mixture, smoothing it out with a spatula.

                            - Drizzle a portion of the chocolate ganache over the cheesecake layer, followed by a sprinkle of crushed chocolate cookies.

                              - Repeat the layers: another third of the chocolate cake, the remaining chocolate cheesecake mixture, more ganache, and remaining crushed cookies.

                                - Top with the final layer of chocolate cake, remaining ganache, and garnish with optional cocoa powder or chocolate shavings.

                                  Chill and Serve:

                                    - Cover the assembled trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight) to allow flavors to meld and the cheesecake to set.

                                      - Just before serving, dollop with additional whipped cream, if desired.

Prep Time: 30 min | Total Time: 5 hrs (includes chilling) | Servings: 8-10
