Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon instant yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup warm water (about 110°F)

2 tablespoons olive oil (plus more for brushing)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

    - In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix the dry ingredients well.

      - Add the warm water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.

        - Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Form it into a ball.

          Let the Dough Rise:

            - Place the dough ball in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

              Prepare the Garlic Oil:

                - While the dough is rising, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and let it infuse for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Remove from heat and set aside.

                  Shape the Flatbreads:

                    - Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

                      - Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide the dough into four equal portions.

                        - Roll each portion on a lightly floured surface into a thin oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick. Transfer the flatbreads to the prepared baking sheet.

                          Top and Bake:

                            - Brush each flatbread generously with the garlic oil and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes if using.

                              - Bake in the oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the flatbreads are golden brown and crispy.

                                Garnish and Serve:

                                  - Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley. Let the flatbreads cool slightly before slicing.

                                    - Serve warm as an appetizer, side dish, or snack. Enjoy the lovely crunch and flavors!
