Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked pasta or rice, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season them with salt and pepper.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter is melted and bubbling, increase to medium-high heat.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp to the pan in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, flipping halfway through. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.

Add Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Make the Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a low simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and lemon juice. Continue to stir until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens slightly.

Combine: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing them gently in the creamy sauce. Allow everything to heat through for another minute. Adjust seasoning with additional salt, pepper, and lemon juice if desired.

Serve: Serve your creamy garlic butter shrimp over pasta, rice, or enjoy it on its own. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
