Ingredients

4 cups of stale banana bread, cubed

2 ripe bananas, sliced

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

3 large eggs

2 cups whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Whipped cream or ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Prepare the Bread: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed banana bread and sliced bananas. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout.

Make the Custard: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, sugar, salt, and cinnamon until well combined and smooth.

Combine: Pour the egg mixture over the banana bread and chocolate mixture. Press down gently on the bread with a spatula to ensure all the pieces are soaked in the custard. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to absorb the liquid.

Bake: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, allow to cool for about 10 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream on top.

              Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour | Servings: 8-10
