Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a Mexican blend)

1 cup refried beans

1 can (10 oz) refrigerated pizza dough

1/2 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)

1/2 cup chopped green onions

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

Cooking spray or olive oil

Salsa and sour cream for dipping

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Cook the Meat: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef (or turkey) until cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary. Stir in the taco seasoning according to packet instructions, adding a little water if needed to create a cohesive filling. Set aside.

Prepare the Pizza Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle of about 12x16 inches. Cut the dough into 4 equal strips lengthwise.

Assemble the Taco Sticks: For each strip of pizza dough, spread a layer of refried beans, followed by a generous scoop of the seasoned meat mixture. Sprinkle with diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, green onions, and black olives (if using) atop each strip.

Fold and Seal: Fold each dough strip over the filling, pressing the edges to seal them securely. You may use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.

Bake: Place the taco sticks on a baking sheet lightly greased with cooking spray. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.

Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm with salsa and sour cream for dipping.
