Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 package (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough

1 cup diced bell peppers (any color)

1/2 cup diced onions

1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

1 tbsp olive oil

Salsa and sour cream for dipping

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the diced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 3 minutes or until they start to soften.

Cook the Meat: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it up with a spatula, and cook until browned. Drain any excess grease. Stir in the taco seasoning and a little water (as per packet instructions), mix well, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

Add Cheese: Turn off heat and mix in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until thoroughly combined. If using, fold in sliced black olives.

Prepare Pizza Dough: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). On a clean surface, roll out the refrigerated pizza dough into a large rectangle. Cut it into 2-inch strips.

Assemble Taco Sticks: Take a strip of pizza dough, place a teaspoonful of the taco filling at one end, and roll it up tightly like a burrito. Seal the edges by pinching them together.

Apply Egg Wash: Place the rolled sticks seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give a golden-brown finish when baked.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with salsa and sour cream for dipping.
