The first and foremost ingredient in this recipe is, of course, fresh strawberries. When selecting strawberries for your Cheesecake Deviled Strawberries, it is essential to choose ripe, plump berries that are firm to the touch and bright red in color. Look for strawberries that have their green caps intact, as this indicates freshness. Varieties like June-bearing strawberries, everbearing strawberries, or even local heirloom types can provide excellent flavor profiles. Make sure to avoid strawberries that show signs of bruising or mold, as they can affect both the taste and presentation of your dish.

Ingredients

12 large fresh strawberries

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup sour cream

Zest of 1 lemon

1/4 cup finely chopped graham cracker crumbs

Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Start by gently rinsing the strawberries under cold water and patting them dry. Slice the tops off the strawberries and carefully hollow out the insides using a small spoon or a strawberry huller.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, sour cream, and lemon zest. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Spoon the cheesecake filling into a piping bag or a resealable plastic bag (cut a corner off the bag if using).

Fill each hollowed strawberry with the cheesecake mixture, overfilling slightly for a nice presentation.

Sprinkle the top of each filled strawberry with graham cracker crumbs to mimic a traditional cheesecake crust.

For an added touch, garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Arrange the Cheesecake Deviled Strawberries on a serving platter and refrigerate for about 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
