Ingredients

For the Beef Filling:

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Cheddar Bay Biscuit Topping:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

3/4 cup buttermilk

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)

Instructions

Prepare the Beef Filling:

    - In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.

      - Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

        - Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until everything is heated through and combined.

Make the Cheddar Bay Biscuit Topping:

            - Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

              - In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

                - Add the cold cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.

                  - Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and parsley.

                    - Add the buttermilk to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix; a few lumps are okay.

                      Assemble the Cobbler:

                        - In a greased 8x8-inch baking dish, pour the beef filling evenly across the bottom.

                          - Scoop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough and drop them over the beef filling, leaving some space between each for expansion.

                            Bake:

                              - Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

                                Serve:

                                  - Allow the cobbler to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Cheddar Bay Ground Beef Cobbler warm!
