Ingredients

1 batch of brownie mix (plus ingredients needed for preparation, or homemade brownies)

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chocolate ganache (made from 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup heavy cream)

1/2 cup crushed nuts (walnuts or pecans)

1/2 cup chocolate chips, for garnish

Optional: Fresh berries for decoration

Instructions

Bake the Brownies: Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions or your preferred homemade brownie recipe. Bake in a greased 9x13 inch pan. Allow to cool completely before using.

Make the Chocolate Ganache: In a saucepan, heat the cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Let it cool to room temperature.

Whip the Cream: In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, whip on high speed until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to over-whip.

Assemble the Layers: Cut the cooled brownies into equal squares or rectangles. In a serving dish or a springform pan, lay a single layer of brownies at the bottom. Spread a layer of whipped cream over the brownies, followed by a drizzle of chocolate ganache and a sprinkle of crushed nuts.

Repeat Layers: Continue layering brownies, whipped cream, ganache, and nuts until all ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of whipped cream on top.

Chill the Cake: Cover the assembled cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. This allows the flavors to meld and the cake to firm up.

Serve: Before serving, garnish the top of the cake with chocolate chips and fresh berries, if desired. Slice into squares and serve chilled.
