Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 cup chocolate chips (dark or semi-sweet)

1/4 cup milk or plant-based milk (optional, for a softer texture)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and set it aside.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.

Prepare Wet Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, mixing until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.

Combine Ingredients: Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay. If using, fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips.

Adjust Texture (Optional): For a softer texture, stir in the milk until the batter reaches your desired consistency.

Pour Batter: Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Cool Down: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer the brownie bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Serve: Slice your Choco-Nutty Brownie Bread and serve warm or at room temperature. It pairs wonderfully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream!
