Ingredients

1 package of mini hot dogs (cocktail franks)

1 can of crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1 egg (for egg wash)

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: chopped chives for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, Dijon mustard, maple syrup, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a cheesy bacon filling.

Roll Out the Dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it. Separate the dough into triangles as per package instructions.

Add Filling: Place a mini hot dog at the base of each triangle. Add a spoonful of the cheese and bacon mixture on top of each hot dog.

Wrap the Dogs: Roll the triangle of dough over the hot dog starting at the base and moving to the tip. Make sure to tuck in the ends to prevent the filling from oozing out during baking.

Prepare for Baking: Place each wrapped pig in a blanket on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each piece. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it over the top of each blanket for a beautiful golden color.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the crescent dough is golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, and garnish with chopped chives if desired. Serve warm with additional maple syrup or ketchup for dipping.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 12 pigs in a blanket
