Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1 tsp salt

1 cup milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tbsp ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)

1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

2 tbsp milk (for icing)

1 tsp vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, heat the milk until warm (about 110°F). Stir in the sugar and yeast, then let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Mix Dough: In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, salt, and the yeast mixture. Add melted butter and eggs. Gradually mix in the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a dough forms.

Knead Dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

Roll Dough: Once dough is ready, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle, about 18x12 inches. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.

Form Rolls: Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice into 12 equal pieces. Place in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spacing them evenly apart.

Second Rise: Cover the dish with a cloth and allow the rolls to rise for another 30-45 minutes until they become puffy.

Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Prepare Icing: While rolls bake, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk if necessary.

Finish & Serve: Once out of the oven, let rolls cool for about 5 minutes. Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls and serve immediately. Enjoy your delightful cinnamon rolls!
