Ingredients

Shrimp & Main Components

  • 1 pound (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Sauce / Marinade

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon low‑sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Seasonings & Garnish

  • ½ teaspoon red‑pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

Cooking the Shrimp

  1. Heat the Skillet. Place a large non‑stick skillet over medium‑high heat. When the surface is hot (about 3 minutes), add the shrimp in a single layer. The pan should sizzle immediately, indicating the right temperature for a quick sear.
  2. Sear the Shrimp. Cook for 1‑2 minutes without moving them, allowing a golden‑brown crust to form. Flip each piece and sear the other side for another 1‑2 minutes; shrimp turn opaque and pink when done.
  3. Introduce the Glaze. Reduce the heat to medium. Pour the honey‑garlic mixture over the shrimp, stirring gently to coat every piece. As the sauce bubbles, it will begin to thicken and cling to the seafood.
  4. Finish the Sauce. Continue cooking for 1‑2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the glaze becomes glossy and slightly reduced. It should coat the back of a spoon without pooling excessively.
  5. Garnish and Serve. Remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds over the shrimp. Give the pan a final quick toss to distribute the garnish evenly.
