Woman's Calm Response to Husband's Cruelty Unlocks a Hidden Fortune and Unexpected Power

Woman's Calm Response to Husband's Cruelty Unlocks a Hidden Fortune and Unexpected Power
← Previous Part (1) Reading Part 2 of 3

That night, I couldn't sleep. I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, my mind racing. I thought about the trust, about the power it would give me. But more than that, I thought about the future I wanted for June.

I couldn't let Trevor and Darlene win. I had to fight back, but I had to be smart. I had to play my cards right.

The next morning, I received a call from Ellis. "The trust has been activated, Corinne. Everything is in motion. You need to be ready for what comes next."

I nodded, even though he couldn't see me. "I'm ready, Ellis. Thank you."

As I hung up, I knew that the game had just begun.

The Unraveling Begins

The next few days were a blur of activity. Reports started flooding in about Bascombe Commercial Builders. Credit lines were cut, projects were put on hold, and suppliers began demanding immediate payment. The company was on the brink of collapse, and Trevor was in a panic.

He stormed around the house, his face red with anger. "What have you done, Corinne? This is all your fault!"

I remained calm, my voice steady. "I didn't do anything, Trevor. This is the result of your own poor financial decisions."

He slammed his fist on the table. "You're lying! You have to be!"

I met his gaze, unflinching. "I suggest you look in the mirror, Trevor. Maybe then you'll see the real problem."

He stormed out of the room, leaving me alone with June. I picked her up and held her close, feeling a sense of peace wash over me. For the first time in a long time, I felt in control.

A few days later, the bank called. They informed me that the house was in foreclosure. Trevor's credit was ruined. He was facing bankruptcy. I knew it was time to act.

I called Ellis and laid out my plan. "I need to buy out Trevor's shares in Bascombe Commercial Builders. I need to take control of the company."

Ellis hesitated for a moment. "Are you sure, Corinne? This is a major move."

I nodded. "I'm sure. It's the only way to protect June and ensure our future."

Ellis agreed, and the paperwork began. Within a week, I had signed the documents, and Bascombe Commercial Builders was mine.

Trevor was livid. He accused me of stealing from him, of betraying him. But I stood my ground. "This is about protecting my daughter, Trevor. You left me no choice."

He stormed out of the house, and I knew it was over. But I also knew that this was just the beginning.

The Final Showdown

The next few weeks were a whirlwind. I worked tirelessly to turn Bascombe Commercial Builders around. I hired new management, streamlined operations, and secured new contracts. The company began to thrive under my leadership.

Trevor, on the other hand, was a different story. He was bitter and angry, and he began to spread rumors about me. He claimed I was an embezzler, that I had stolen from him. But the truth was on my side, and I had the evidence to back it up.

One day, Darlene showed up at the house, her face twisted with hatred. "You think you can take everything from us, Corinne? You're nothing but a thief!"
