When My Husband Left for His Trainer, I Never Expected to Find Joy in His Misery

When My Husband Left for His Trainer, I Never Expected to Find Joy in His Misery Save

Returning Home

The house was alive with laughter as I stepped inside, the familiar sound of my children playing a welcome comfort. They tossed a ball back and forth, their cheeks rosy and bright. For a moment, I hesitated, the weight of my day pressing down on me.

"Hey, kids!" I called out, forcing a smile onto my face. "Daddy’s busy at work. He’ll be home later!"

They cheered, completely unaware of the storm brewing in their father's life. I settled onto the couch, drowning out thoughts of Cole and Alyssa with the joyful chaos of my children.

After dinner, as I tucked the kids into bed, my phone buzzed on the table. I picked it up, and my heart sank as I saw the name "Alyssa." She sent a message filled with venom:

"Hope you're enjoying the show. Your husband really knows how to make an exit. Don’t worry, I’m sure he’ll find his way back to you... eventually."

Fury coursed through my veins. I could feel heat radiating from my skin, pulsing with indignation. How dare she taunt me? I gripped the phone tight, my knuckles whitening.

Digging for Truth

As the silence of the house settled around me, I felt the urge to uncover the truth. I needed to know how deep the betrayal ran. I moved toward Cole's home office, my heart racing.

His belongings were scattered over the desk, revealing his disarray. I rifled through papers, then paused, spotting his laptop. My breath caught as I opened it, hoping to find something, anything.

The emails unfolded like a twisted story, each line more damning than the last. Cole’s plans with Alyssa were laid bare—the trips they discussed, the future he envisioned while I was raising our children alone.

Shock washed over me like a wave, strong and disorienting. The reality of it all hit me hard. I gripped the edge of the desk for support.

Suddenly, I heard the unmistakable sound of keys jangling at the door. My heart raced again as I rushed to meet him, the laptop still open behind me, exposing his treachery.

"What the hell are you doing?" Cole's voice boomed as he stepped inside, anger written across his face. His eyes flicked towards the lit screen, confusion morphing into rage.

“I’m gathering the evidence of your lies, Cole,” I said, steadying my voice, though my pulse quickened. I pointed to the screen. “Explain this!”

In an instant, his expression hardened. “You think you know everything?” he sneered. “I've been planning to leave for months. Alyssa was just the final step in my escape.”
