I Stopped the Wedding When I Saw What the Groom Did to the Cake

I Stopped the Wedding When I Saw What the Groom Did to the Cake Save

Sophie, still holding her phone, watches as security guards chase Daniel out of the wedding hall. The room is in chaos, with guests whispering and some crying. Olivia stands frozen, her face a mix of shock and betrayal.

Sophie's heart raced as she watched the security guards close in on Daniel. He stumbled, trying to escape, but the exits were blocked. The room was a blur of motion and sound, but her focus remained on the groom.

Guests whispered and gasped, their eyes wide with shock. Some women were crying, covering their mouths with their hands. The atmosphere was electric, charged with tension and disbelief.

Olivia stood rooted to the spot, her face a mask of confusion and betrayal. Her eyes darted from Sophie to Daniel, then back to the cake. The spoon lay on the floor, forgotten.

"How could you?" Olivia's voice was a mere whisper, but it cut through the noise like a knife. Her eyes filled with tears, and she swayed slightly.

Sophie took a step closer, her hand reaching out. "Olivia, I'm so sorry. I had to stop him."

Olivia's mother rushed to her side, pulling her into a tight embrace. "It's okay, darling. It's okay."

The chaos in the room intensified. People were shouting, pointing, and arguing. Some guests were on their phones, calling for help. The wedding coordinator was frantically trying to regain control, but it was too late.

Security guards finally cornered Daniel near the main entrance. He struggled, but they overpowered him and dragged him outside. The crowd erupted into applause, a mix of relief and anger.

Sophie's phone buzzed with notifications. She ignored them, her attention fixed on Olivia. The bride's face was a mix of emotions—shock, pain, and a growing sense of dread.

A sudden hush fell over the room as an elderly man stood up. Dr. Michael Harper, Olivia's uncle, stepped forward. His face was serious, and his eyes were filled with concern.

Dr. Harper explains that the sedative in the cake is highly potent and could have put Olivia in a deep, unconscious state. He reveals that the sedative is often used in kidnappings. The guests are horrified, and Olivia begins to cry, realizing the gravity of the situation.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Dr. Harper's voice cut through the silence, authoritative and calm. "What was poured into that cake was a highly potent sedative."

The room grew deathly quiet. Guests exchanged worried glances, their faces pale.

Olivia's hands trembled as she listened. "A sedative?" she whispered, her voice breaking.

Dr. Harper nodded. "Yes. It's a powerful drug, often used in kidnappings to render victims unconscious. If you had eaten that cake, you would have been in a deep, unresponsive state for hours."

The realization hit Olivia like a physical blow. Her eyes filled with tears, and she began to cry, her sobs echoing through the room. Her mother held her tightly, tears streaming down her own face.

The guests were shocked, their whispers turning into murmurings of horror. Some looked around, their faces filled with fear.

"But how did this happen?" someone shouted from the back of the room.

Dr. Harper continued, his voice steady. "It's clear that someone intended to use this sedative to kidnap Olivia. The amount poured into the cake was more than enough to incapacitate her completely."

The room was a storm of emotions. People were crying, hugging each other, and some were on the verge of panic. Suddenly, a guest in the front row fainted, collapsing to the floor.

The room erupted into chaos. More guests began to collapse, hinting at a more widespread and immediate danger. Panic set in, and the once joyful wedding hall turned into a scene of terror and confusion.

Sophie is questioned by the police, who are now on the scene. She recounts everything she saw, showing them the photograph. The police take the cake and the bottle as evidence. Olivia, still in shock, is comforted by her family, but her trust in Daniel is shattered.

The room was still buzzing with whispers and gasps when the police arrived. Their presence brought a sense of order, though the tension was palpable.
