I Never Thought My Husband Would Kill My Unborn Children to Protect His First Love

I Never Thought My Husband Would Kill My Unborn Children to Protect His First Love Save

Bleeding Truths in the ICU

Air smelled of antiseptic and stale coffee as I lay on the thin mattress, the echo of the knife still ringing in my ears.

Dr. Marcus Reed entered, his white coat rustling, a clipboard tucked under his arm.

“Mabel, we need to talk about the blood work,” he said, his voice low, eyes flicking to the monitors.

I tried to sit up, the pain flaring like fire.

“Your twins,” he continued, flipping the page, “their blood type is AB‑negative.”

My throat tightened. “Flynn is O‑positive.”

He hesitated, the weight of the words sinking.

“Statistically, it’s impossible for his genes to produce AB‑negative. Something doesn’t add up.”

My mind raced, images of the knife, Selina’s tear‑streaked face, the cold gleam of steel.

“Are you saying…?” I whispered, the question dying on my lips.

He gave a small, solemn nod. “I’m not saying anything definitively, but the lab results suggest they may not be his biological children.”

The room seemed to close in, the fluorescent lights buzzing like insects.

“Do you need to know who the father is?” he asked, almost gently.

I stared at the ceiling, the ceiling tiles feeling like a grid of lies.

Flynn’s Desperate Denial

Flynn burst into the ICU, his suit immaculate despite the blood staining his hands, eyes darting like a trapped animal.

“Mabel, listen to me,” he hissed, pulling a chair close, his voice a low growl.

“You’re lying. The twins are yours, mine. We can fix this.”

He leaned in, his breath hot, his hand gripping my wrist.

“If you say anything, I’ll ruin you. I’ll kill the story before it even starts.”

His fingers tightened, a threat wrapped in a promise of protection.

I tried to speak, but the pain in my abdomen drowned my words.

“You’ll never get away with this,” I managed, the defiance trembling.

He laughed, a brittle sound, and snapped a cufflink off his shirt, flashing it like a badge.

“I’m the one who decides what’s true. The twins are ours, and you’ll stay silent.”

Just then, a stern voice cut through the tension.

“Mr. Vance, step away from the patient.”

It was the hospital security guard, his badge glinting, his hand already on the radio.
