I Never Expected to Find My Husband and My Mother in a Motel Room Together

I Never Expected to Find My Husband and My Mother in a Motel Room Together Save

Section 5

The paper trembled in my hands as I read the words over and over. Logan had a child. A child he never mentioned. My chest tightened, the air feeling thin and sharp. I struggled to comprehend the implications of those neatly typed lines.

“What did I miss?” I whispered, feeling the ground shift beneath me. My marriage, my entire life felt like a house of cards ready to collapse. Every moment of laughter, every memory crafted with Logan suddenly felt tainted.

“Mom, are you okay?” Noah’s voice broke through my haze.

“I… I’ll be fine, sweetheart.” I forced a smile, but my heart raced, knowing that everything was far from fine. I needed answers, not just about this child but about everything. Just then, my phone buzzed, and I instinctively glanced at the screen. It was Logan.

“Please meet me. I have something important to explain.”

The urgency in his message twisted my stomach. I wanted to ignore it, to throw the phone away, but I couldn’t. Too many unanswered questions lingered. Against my better judgment, I texted back a simple ‘Where?’

He replied with the name of a coffee shop halfway between our homes, and I felt a flutter of anxiety. I needed to confront him, but what more could he possibly say?

Section 6

My heart pounded as I arrived at the coffee shop, scanning the room. I spotted Logan at a corner table, but he wasn’t alone. My breath caught in my throat as I saw a woman beside him. She looked familiar, but it was her presence that sent a chill down my spine.

“You were right, I can’t leave him,” the woman said, her voice low.

Logan leaned closer, their heads almost touching. “I just need to figure out how to support you both without hurting anyone. It’s complicated.”

Complicated? My world spun as realization hit like a freight train. This was his child’s mother, the missing piece of the puzzle I never knew existed. I felt dizzy, betrayal consuming me as I tried to comprehend the weight of his words.

“Our plans can’t wait any longer,” she urged, her eyes filled with determination.

I took a hesitant step forward, my heart racing with indignation. “Logan!” I called out, my voice breaking the bubble of their shared intimacy. He turned, and the shock on his face mirrored my own turmoil.

“What are you doing here?” he stammered, but the guilt in his eyes told me everything. Logan had been living a double life, weaving a web of lies that ensnared not only me but also his child’s mother.

“We need to talk,” I said, my voice steady despite the chaos within me.

Logan opened his mouth to respond, but I felt the gut punch of betrayal wash over me as I realized he had been secretly supporting a child—our entire marriage shrouded in deception. I turned away, feeling shattered and raw, knowing that my husband had crossed a line I could never unsee.
