I Built His Dream Life, But When He Cheated, I Unraveled Everything He Took for Granted

I Built His Dream Life, But When He Cheated, I Unraveled Everything He Took for Granted Save

Confronting the Betrayal

The moment Grant stormed into the room, I could feel the air shift. His eyes darted between me and the family gathered, looking for a way out of the chaos he had created.

"You don’t understand," he exclaimed, his voice dripping with a mix of indignation and fear. "I married Sienna because we love each other. You were always too busy with your work." His words stung, twisting like knives in my gut.

Without waiting for my thoughts to catch up, I pulled out my phone and thrust it forward. "This is how you define love?" I shouted, my voice breaking the stunned silence. I displayed the photos of their wedding, the incriminating messages exchanged under the guise of my absence.

“You thought I wouldn’t find out, didn’t you?”

Gasps echoed around the room. I could see his family’s expressions shift from confusion to disbelief. I turned to his brother, who stood glaring at me. “You’re lying! You always had it out for Grant!”

“Lying? This is evidence!” I shot back, pointing to the screen. "You all knew, and you let him destroy me!"

The tension escalated, and I could feel my heart racing. Grant’s face turned from panic to anger, and I could sense that this was just the beginning of a war. Desperate and cornered, I stormed out, my fury propelling me down the hall and into the empty night.

A Legal Strategy

The office smelled of fresh coffee and old paper as I sat across from my lawyer, Laura. “We need to act quickly. This is about more than just your marriage; it’s about your life,” she said, reviewing the documents I had brought.

“He will pay for what he's done,” I replied, steeling myself. My hands shook slightly, but I forced myself to maintain eye contact.

“We’re looking at defamation and financial manipulation,” Laura continued. “But you need to understand, your finances are intertwined with his spending habits. This will complicate things.”

“Complicated is one thing,” I muttered, feeling the weight of my reality crash down. “I refuse to let him walk away with my life.”

As the meeting wrapped up, I felt a surge of determination. I could take this battle to wherever it needed to go. But just as I rose to leave, my phone buzzed—a cryptic message lit up the screen from an unknown number: “Back off. You don’t know what you’re getting into.”

A chill ran down my spine. My hands tightened around my phone, and I felt a knot forming in my stomach. I needed to confront Grant with this knowledge. I had the upper hand.

But before I could step out, I overheard voices in the hallway. “We have to move quickly,” Grant said, his tone low and conspiratorial. “If we’re going to seize her company, we can’t waste any more time.”
