The board members exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of concern and curiosity. I continued, "However, I believe it's time to set the record straight. Cordelia will be receiving a letter from our legal team tomorrow, outlining the true ownership and management structure of Ashgrove Airways."

As I finished speaking, I felt a sense of relief and determination. The truth was out, and it was time for Cordelia to face the consequences of her actions.

The Family Confrontation

The next day, I received a call from my father. His voice was hesitant, almost nervous.

"Wren, we need to talk. Cordelia received a letter from your lawyers, and she's... upset. She wants to know why you didn't tell her about the airline."

I sighed, feeling a mix of frustration and pity. "Dad, it wasn't about keeping a secret. It was about how she treated me. She never once showed any interest in me or my life. She assumed the worst about me and my mother, and I didn't want to give her the satisfaction of knowing just how much power I have."

"But this is a lot to take in," he said, his voice tinged with regret. "We need to have a family meeting. We need to clear the air."

I agreed, knowing that this conversation was long overdue. The family meeting was tense, but necessary. Cordelia's face was a mix of shock and anger as she confronted me.

"How could you do this to me? To us?" she demanded, her voice trembling.

I met her gaze steadily. "I didn't do anything to you, Cordelia. You did this to yourself. You treated me with disrespect and contempt, and I let you. But now, it's time for you to understand the truth."

The room was silent as I explained the history of the airline and my role in it. Cordelia's expression slowly shifted from anger to realization.

The Final Reckoning

In the days that followed, the atmosphere at home changed dramatically. Cordelia's arrogance was replaced by a newfound respect, and my father's guilt gave way to a deeper understanding of the situation. We had a lot of healing to do, but the first steps had been taken.

One evening, Cordelia approached me in the living room. Her demeanor was different, more humble. "Wren, I owe you an apology. I was wrong about so many things. I underestimated you and your mother, and I treated you horribly. I'm truly sorry."

I looked at her, feeling a mix of emotions. "Thank you, Cordelia. It means a lot to hear you say that. But understand, this isn't just about an apology. It's about changing the way you treat people. About recognizing their worth and respecting them, regardless of your perceptions."

She nodded, her eyes welling with tears. "I understand. I'll do better. I promise."

As the weeks passed, Cordelia made a genuine effort to mend our relationship. She started learning more about the airline and even expressed interest in getting involved in a philanthropic project I was working on. It was a small step, but it was a start.

In the end, the truth had set us all free. Cordelia had learned the power of humility, and I had found a new path forward, one where my family's legacy and my own values were aligned.

And as I stood in the Ashgrove Airways lounge, watching the passengers board, I felt a sense of peace. The quiet triumph of a daughter who had finally claimed her place in the world.
