Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced (about 1/8‑inch thick)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Seasonings & Garnish

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Assembling & Baking

  1. Preheat Oven. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment. This temperature creates a steady, high heat that caramelizes the edges while keeping the interior fluffy.
  2. Layer the Potatoes. Arrange the potato slices in a single, overlapping layer on the prepared sheet. Overcrowding traps steam; a single layer encourages the edges to turn golden and crisp.
  3. Coat with Glaze. Drizzle the garlic‑butter mixture evenly over the potatoes, using a spatula to toss them gently so each slice is glossy and well‑covered. Sprinkle sea salt, black pepper, and half of the Parmesan at this stage.
  4. Bake. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25‑30 minutes, turning the slices halfway through. Look for a deep golden‑brown color and tender interiors when pierced with a fork.
  5. Finish with a Broil. Switch the oven to broil, add the remaining Parmesan, and broil for 2‑3 minutes until the cheese melts and forms a crisp, bubbling crust. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.
