Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni (or your favorite short pasta)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Sauce & Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all‑purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk

Seasonings & Toppings

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Combining & Baking

  1. Brown the Chicken. Heat a large skillet over medium‑high heat, add a splash of oil, and sear the honey‑pepper chicken cubes for 3–4 minutes, turning once, until they develop a caramelized crust. The heat locks in juices and intensifies the sweet‑spicy glaze.
  2. Mix Everything. In a large mixing bowl combine the cooked pasta, browned chicken, and cheese sauce. Toss gently to ensure every noodle and bite of chicken is coated in sauce.
  3. Transfer to Baking Dish. Pour the mixture into a greased 9‑x‑13‑inch baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, and a drizzle of melted butter over the top for a golden crust.
  4. Bake. Place the dish in a preheated 375°F (190°C) oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the topping is crisped and the sauce is bubbling at the edges.
