Unraveling Threads

The clinic certification flickered to life on the screen, followed by Brooke’s signature consent form. The crowd murmured, a wave of disbelief rolling over them.

Then, her voice echoed through the ballroom: “Dominic is desperate for a boy.” A laugh followed, so cruel and confident.

Dominic swayed, taking a step back as if struck. “You used me?” His voice cracked, disbelief etched deep in his features.

“You used everyone!” Brooke screamed, her mask shattered. “How dare you call this a lie?”

Olivia, furious, lunged at Brooke, but the younger woman shoved her back, scattering flowers. White petals spiraled through the air like fallen hopes.

“You wanted an heir so badly that you never even stopped to ask why a vasectomy suddenly failed,” Brooke spat, her desperation fueling anger.

Dominic’s gaze turned to me, desperate. “Beatrice, listen. We can fix this. We can talk.”

Leo stepped closer, displaying the board resolution. “You are officially removed as chief executive,” he said, his tone measured, but the authority behind it dripped with finality. The truth would roll forward like an avalanche.

Showdown

The detectives entered, two men dressed in somber suits. They moved with purpose, their eyes scanning the room. I could almost hear the unspoken questions in the air.

“You can’t take my company,” Dominic protested, the weight of panic settling on him like a heavy cloak.

“You stole from us,” Leo countered, pointing at the screen where frozen accounts and forged approvals flickered. “This is just the beginning.”

Olivia's voice broke, a sob escaping her lips. “I’m Grace’s grandmother,” she cried, her composure shattering like glass.

“You called her second place,” I reminded her, each word a dagger into the heart of the family Dominic constructed on lies.

Dominic’s hands fell to his sides, trembling. “I made one mistake,” he murmured, the conviction in his voice crumbling.

“You made every choice leading here,” I replied, my own voice unwavering, filled with the strength of Grace. “You wanted power. You wanted respect. But all you built was a house of cards.”

The story continues…
