I Spent Seven Years Hiding My Wealth, But Tonight I Will Finally Show My True Self
Secrets Behind Closed Doors
Seraphina removed the yellow cleaning gloves and placed them beside the sink. Then she walked downstairs toward the temperature-controlled wine cellar, her heartbeat echoing in her ears.
Behind a rack of vintage bottles was a small security panel. With a swift movement, she punched in the code, and the door opened to reveal a room that felt worlds away from the hollow atmosphere of the mansion.
Inside were secure computer screens, financial reports, legal files, and a private communication system connected directly to the executive offices of Bellamy Holdings.
She opened a drawer and removed a black phone. One name appeared at the top of the contact list, suspended like a thread, waiting to be pulled.
Seraphina looked at the reflection of herself in the dark computer screen. She still wore a plain cream blouse and a simple skirt. A small mark from dishwater remained on one sleeve.
“Seat Grant Holloway at the central table tonight,”
she said, her voice steady as she contemplated the consequences. “Tell him the chairwoman of Bellamy Holdings has selected his company for a major announcement.”
For years, she had hidden her true identity. Tonight, it was time to reveal the family legacy she had concealed, a legacy that funded Grant’s existence.
The door at the back of the room opened automatically. An emerald-green gown waited beneath soft lights, and beside it rested a diamond-and-emerald necklace that had belonged to Seraphina’s grandmother, Beatrice Bellamy.
Three members of her private security team stood in the hallway, watching her. This was her moment.
For seven years, Seraphina had kept her family’s wealth a secret, testing whether the Holloways could value her for who she was, untainted by riches.
Into the Spotlight
Grant arrived at the Atlantic Legacy Gala shortly after nine o’clock, looking every bit the part of a successful businessman.
Dozens of photographers awaited at the entrance, capturing every inch of his polished presence. Delaney held his arm as they walked across the white carpet.
When reporters referred to Delaney as Mrs. Holloway, Grant did not correct them. Instead, he pulled her closer for the cameras, the intimacy of it stinging.
Mavis followed in a beaded champagne gown, smiling as though the evening were a family victory. Brielle streamed their entrance to thousands of followers.
“My brother is finally being recognized at the level he deserves,”
Brielle told her audience, her pride woven tightly with entitlement.
An event coordinator escorted the family to the central table directly in front of the stage. That table was reserved for the gala’s largest benefactors, Bellamy Holdings executives, and the corporation’s private chairwoman.
To Grant, the seating arrangement meant only one thing. Bellamy Holdings was preparing to give him another investment.
Holloway Meridian Group had survived three serious financial crises. Each time, a different private fund had appeared at the perfect moment.
Seraphina had orchestrated all of it.
She had also paid for Everett Holloway’s complicated heart procedure, settled Mavis’s personal debts, and rescued Brielle’s failed luxury boutique. She had never asked for public recognition, only to see if the Holloways could respect her without knowing that she controlled the money supporting their lifestyle.
They had answered by leaving her home to wash their dishes.
