I Said No to My Husband’s Secretarial Honeymoon and Took Back the Villa My Grandmother Gifted Me

I Said No to My Husband’s Secretarial Honeymoon and Took Back the Villa My Grandmother Gifted Me Save

Gate Confrontation

Desmond stared at the departure board, his coffee cooling in the metal cup.

“Wren, we’re boarding in two minutes.”

I planted my hand on the slick metal railing, feeling the buzz of the airport lights on my skin.

“You’re not boarding.”

He blinked, the smile fading as if a switch had been pulled.

“What are you talking about?”

Priscilla stood a few steps away, her tablet balanced on her knee, completely oblivious.

“She’s not just a secretary. She’s a guest. And you’re forcing me to share our honeymoon with a stranger.”

Desmond’s jaw tightened; his eyes flicked to the airline gate agent, who was already scanning boarding passes.

“You can’t—”

“I can, and I will.”

He reached for my arm, the strap of his suitcase rattling against the polished floor.

I stepped back, a thin folder of paperwork clasped in my hand.

“I have a power of attorney over Halloway Hospitality. The villa, the corporate travel account… everything is under my name.”

His mouth opened, then closed, as the gate chime sounded.

“If you try to board, I’ll file an injunction. The reservation’s tied to my company, not to Ashgrove.”

Desmond stared, the world of his carefully crafted plans narrowing to a single, trembling point.

Call to Odalys

I slipped the folder into my bag and slipped my phone into the pocket of my coat.

“Odalys, answer me,” I whispered, the line already ringing in the bustling terminal.

“Wren? What’s happening?”

My voice steadied as I spoke, “I’m at the gate. Desmond just announced Priscilla will join us in Santorini. He’s trying to board.”

There was a pause, a soft gasp, then a low chuckle.

“You mean the villa we own?”

“Exactly. I have controlling interest in Halloway Hospitality. The corporate travel account he used is mine.”

She breathed in sharply, “Then you can freeze it.”

I felt the weight of a decade‑old inheritance settle like a stone in my palm.

“I’m doing it now.”

On the other end, I heard the click of a keyboard, the hum of a secure server.
