I Never Imagined a Mafia Boss Would Drag My Daughter Into a Hidden Tunnel Beneath Our Home

I Never Imagined a Mafia Boss Would Drag My Daughter Into a Hidden Tunnel Beneath Our Home

Chasing Shadows in the Servants’ Corridor

Bruno burst through the narrow doorway, his massive paws thudding against the cold stone.

Sophie shrieked, “Mama, grab him!” and I lunged after them, my shoes splashing through the rain‑slicked tiles.

The corridor smelled of wet wool and old incense; the rain hammered the mansion’s walls, a relentless drum that seemed to echo the pounding in my chest.

“Hold on, sweetheart,” I whispered, reaching for Sophie’s tiny hand, but she was already clinging to Bruno’s ragged collar.

We skidded around the servant’s pantry, the flicker of a lone bulb casting trembling shadows on the walnut panels.

When Bruno slipped through a seam in the wall, I followed, the stone teeth of the doorway biting at my forearms.

Behind the walnut, a concealed alcove yawned open, lit by a single amber lamp that threw a weak glow over a low table.

On the table lay a stack of envelopes, each sealed with a crimson sigil, the paper humming with a faint static.

Sophie’s eyes widened at the sight. “What are those, Mama?” she asked, voice trembling.

My breath hitched; the envelopes were the kind Moretti’s men used to send encrypted orders.

“We’re not supposed to see this,” I muttered, feeling the weight of danger settle like a stone in my gut.

Bruno growled low, his amber eyes scanning the darkness as if guarding a secret.

“We need to get out,” I said, pulling Sophie toward the narrow exit, but the darkness seemed to close in around us.

Silenced by Steel

Just as I turned the corner, two figures stepped from the shadows, their movements soundless, like cats stalking prey.

One of them—tall, face half‑covered by a black scarf—gripped my wrist with a grip that felt like iron.

The other, shorter, produced a pistol, the metal cold against my temple.

“Don’t move,” the short guard hissed, his breath a whisper of stale smoke.

I tried to shield Sophie, but the child slipped behind a tapestry, her small body hidden among the embroidered vines.

Bruno’s low growl rose to a roar, but the guard’s finger tightened on the trigger, a silent promise of death.

The heavy door behind us slammed shut with a thud that rattled the stone, sealing us in.

Rain pounded the mansion’s exterior, a relentless cascade that seemed now to mock the stillness inside.

My heart hammered, throat dry, as the guard’s gun pressed harder to my skin.

“You’ve seen too much,” he whispered, eyes glittering with a cold calculation.

All I could feel was the weight of the pistol, the cold metal, and the echo of the door sealing us away.

Section 3 – The Tapestry’s Shadow

My hands clawed at the cold stone as the two guards pressed me to the floor, but my ears caught a low, rumbling growl.

Sophie’s tiny silhouette slipped behind the gilt tapestry, her eyes wide, breath shallow.

Bruno’s massive head lowered, jaw tightening, amber eyes flaring like lanterns in a fog.

“Mamá, what’s he doing?” Sophie whispered, voice trembling against the silk.
