I Caught My Husband’s Affair on His Business Trip and Brought a Lawyer Along for the Ride

I Caught My Husband’s Affair on His Business Trip and Brought a Lawyer Along for the Ride Save

Gate 7, Seat 7C

My phone buzzed with the departure board’s glow as I stepped through the sliding doors.

"Seat 7C – Boarding now," it announced, the green letters crisp against the gray.

I swallowed the surge of cold certainty and moved toward Gate 7, the crowd a blur of hurried suitcases and indifferent travelers.

Julian stood there, his crisp linen shirt already ironed, a smug smile playing on his lips.

Beside him, Chloe—his junior marketing specialist—leaned casually against the column, her perfume a faint, unfamiliar note in the sterile air.

He glanced at me, his eyes flicking over the ticket in my hand as if trying to read my thoughts.

"Elena, perfect timing," he said, voice smooth as the polished floor.

I didn't lower my gaze; I simply lifted my boarding pass, the barcode glinting like a silent accusation.

He tried to close the distance, but the gate's glass doors hissed open, ushering in a wave of passengers.

Behind us, the announcement crackled: "Final call for Flight 462 to Miami. Boarding now at Gate 7."

My heart thumped against my ribs, each beat a reminder of the USB drive crammed in my bag.

Confrontation at the Gate

Julian opened his mouth, rehearsed charm spilling out: "I was just about to—"

Before he could finish, I thrust my ticket forward.

"You booked seats 7A and 7B, Julian. I have 7C."

Chloe's eyes widened, a gasp escaping her lips, the surprise obvious.

The security guard at the gate, a tall man in a navy vest, stepped forward, his hand hovering near his radio.

I swiped my phone, the screen flashing a live video feed—photos of Julian slipping his arm around a woman on a balcony, timestamps, the unmistakable scent of that perfume.

Julian's smile faltered, his jaw tightening.

"What is this?" he demanded, voice cracking.

"Proof," I said, the word flat and final.

The guard's badge clicked; he spoke into his mic, "We have a situation at Gate 7."

Suddenly, the intercom crackled, the gate agent's voice cutting through the murmurs: "Attention passengers, due to a system error the flight is now overbooked. We are reviewing seat allocations."

My eyes flicked to the boarding pass in my hand—its validity now uncertain.

Julian stared, the smugness gone, replaced by a thin veneer of panic.

Chloe clutched her bag tighter, her breath shallow.
